Dedicated to Paul Walker, who passed away in a car accident on November 30, 2013 during the filming of Furious 7.
It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
 When I see you again

 Damn, who knew?
 All the planes we flew
 Good things we've been through
That I'll be standing right here talking to you
 'Bout another path
I know we loved to hit the road and laugh
But something told me that it wouldn't last
 Had to switch up
Look at things different, see the bigger picture
 Those were the days
 Hard work forever pays
Now I see you in a better place (see you in a better place)

 Uh
How can we not talk about family when family's all that we got?
Everything I went through you were standing there by my side
And now you gon' be with me for the last ride

It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again (I see you again)
We've come a long way (yeah, we came a long way) from where we began (you know we started)
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I'll see you again (let me tell you)
 When I'll see you again

 Aah oh, aah oh
 Wooooh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
 Yeah

First you both go out your way
And the vibe is feeling strong
And what's small turn to a friendship
A friendship turn to a bond
And that bond will never be broken
The love will never get lost (and the love will never get lost)
 And when brotherhood come first
Then the line will never be crossed
 Established it on our own
When that line had to be drawn
And that line is what we reach
So remember me when I'm gone (remember me when I'm gone)

How can we not talk about family when family's all that we got?
Everything I went through you were standing there by my side
And now you gon' be with me for the last ride

So let the light guide your way, yeah
Hold every memory as you go
And every road you take, will always lead you home, home

It's been a long day without you, my friend
And I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
We've come a long way from where we began
Oh, I'll tell you all about it when I see you again
 When I see you again

 Aah oh
 (Uh)
 Aah oh
 (Yeah)
 Wooooh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
 (Ya, ya)
 When I see you again
 (Uh)
 See you again
 Wooooh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh
 (Yeah, yeah, uh-huh)
 When I see you again
IT'S BEEN A LONG DAY WITHOUT YOU MY FRIEND= The singer sings from the perspective of the film's cast members, many of whom were considered a real family to Paul Walker.
WHEN I SEE YOU AGAIN= When they see Paul Walker again, in heaven.
LONG WAY= Considerable distance. Paul Walker was a legendary character in 'Fast and Furious', and this could refer to the films from 'Fast and Furious' 1 to 7. As he grew with the film and was part of the cast.
DAMN= An exclamation of annoyance, used to express anger, irritation, contempt, or disappointment.
WHO KNEW?= The cast members never thought for a second they’d lose one of their own.
'BOUT ANOTHER PATH= About another way.
HIT THE ROAD= (Figurative) Set out on a journey, especially on a road trip; leave, depart.
SWITCH UP= To make a change. Their lifestyles are thrilling, but both know they can’t last forever. With so many things changing both on and off camera, and with the tragic death of Paul Walker, things would never be the same.
IN A BETTER PLACE= In heaven.
FAMILY'S ALL THAT WE GOT= As Dom (Vin Diesel) sais in Furious 7: 'I don't have friends, I got family'. They were not family, but might have well as been because they were so close and stood side by side through everything. Dom’s last line of the movie, 'You’ll always be with me, and you’ll always be my brother,' isn’t just Dom talking about Brian, but Diesel talking about Walker himself. The opening up of a very real life tragedy that affected them all in very real ways. The Fast and the Furious franchise has always made a point about family, and the ending of Furious 7 is a tribute to a family member lost.
BY MY SIDE= Close to someone, especially so as to give them comfort or moral support.
GON' BE WITH ME= (informal) Gonna be, going to be with me.
FOR THE LAST RIDE= For the last trip. The movies have always promised “one last ride,” but we all knew it wouldn’t be the last one; but in this case, this one is final. I imagine the final moments of Furious 7 were originally very different. With Dom and Brian having one more race, that one last ride, but with the promise of one more in the future. Furious 7 wasn’t meant to be the family’s last ride. But it was, it most likely is, and while the ending of Furious 7 definitely feels like the closing chapter, it doesn’t feel tragic—it feels cathartic.
WHAT'S SMALL TURN TO A FRIENDSHIP= The song alludes to the friendship/brotherhood Paul Walker and Vin Diesel shared on and off set. Similar to the film serious, the two started as friends and eventually formed a stronger bond. At the time of Paul’s death, he considered Vin Diesel his family.
Vin Diesel shows this strong feeling on his facebook wall, posting: 'When I heard, I immediately flew back to California, and went directly from the plane to his mother's house... I thought they needed my strength, but realized when I got there and broke down before his family, that it was I who needed theirs. His mother hugged me and said I am so sorry... I said sorry? You're the mother who lost a son?... She said yes, but you lost your other half.
TURN TO A BOND= Become an emotional tie which won't never be broken.
THE LOVE WILL NEVER GET LOST= (coloquial) Love will never go away or disappear.
BROTHERHOOD= Fellowship.
THAT LINE IS WHAT WE REACH= Their bond held strong until they reached the 'figurative' finish line.
SO REMEMBER ME WHEN I'M GONE= There’s a tragic irony throughout the entire movie. It begins with Han’s (Sung Kang) funeral and Roman’s (Tyrese Gibson) line, 'No more funerals.' It ends with Brian’s (Paul Walker) last line, 'Hey, thought you could leave without saying goodbye?' The irony is that there was a very real life funeral and a very tragic goodbye. In the final moments of the film, Brian plays happily on the beach with his wife Mia (Jordana Brewster) and their son Jack, while the rest of their family—Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Roman, Tej (Ludacris), Dom (Vin Diesel), and newbie Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel), watch on. The scene is full of life and hope for the future, but the reality is the acknowledgment of the tragic passing of a years long friend. The bittersweet acceptance of that passing, and the pain of having to saying goodbye to a dear friend forever.
LET THE LIGHT GUIDE YOUR WAY= There is probably a biblical reference here, where 'the light' could be identified as 'the Light of the world' -'I am the Light of the World. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but have the light of life': John 8:12-. Jesus is called 'a light' in seven instances in the New Testament and 'Light of the World' only in the Gospel of John, that point to His unique divine identity and purpose. The allegory speaks of the light of His Truth, the light of His Word, the light of eternal Life. Those who perceive the true Light, will never walk in spiritual darkness, which is a reference to the assurance of salvation.
EVERY ROAD YOU TAKE WILL ALWAYS LEAD YOU HOME= No matter the road you take, because it will always guide him to the golden roads in heaven.
The 'Furious 7' Paul Walker tribute is an emotional piece featuring Walker and Vin Diesel set to Wiz Khalifa’s 'See You Again'. “I basically thought about what the movie stands for as far as family and the brotherhood, and of course, using the metaphor of the last ride and the last race because of that last scene," Khalifa explained.

Besides, for Wiz, being a part of this sentimental moment was also quite special, since his personal life was impacted as well. Wiz Khalifa's former wife, Amber Rose, filed for divorce on September 24, 2014, citing "irreconcilable differences." A bitter custody battle over their son ensued, which was only resolved after the model heard this song. The following lyrics softened her heart:
How could we not talk about family when family's all that we got?
Everything I went through you were standing there by my side
And now you gonna be with me for the last ride

After Rose heard the tune, she tearfully rung Khalifa and they agreed to work together as parents to care for Sebastian.
