- What time is it?
- It's six fifteen... six sixteen.

Let's say that it's just starting to be light out, outside. This would be six fifteen in the morning. This part of the day is called "the morning". Seven o'clock in the morning, eight o'clock in the morning. All the way to twelve.

This part of the day is called "noon", twelve noon, N-O-O-N.

This part of the day after noon is called "afternoon". One in the afternoon, two in the afternoon, three in the afternoon, four.

The part of the day when it's starting to get dark is called "the evening", evening. Six in the evening, seven in the evening...

This part of the day when it's dark is called "night", "night time". When it's twelve at night is called "midnight", like "middle of the night". Day and night are opposites.
