Description

Alizée Jacotey (born August 1984) is a French singer, known professionally by her given name Alizée — the feminine form of alizé (“vientos alisios”), the trade wind. She was discovered by Mylène Farmer, following her winning performance in the talent show, Graines de Star, in 1999. Her first album was “Gourmandises” which received Platinum certification within three months of release. “Gourmandises” was a success both in France and abroad. The album featured her most successful single "Moi...Lolita" which reached number one in several countries in Europe and East Asia. Her fourth album titled “Une Enfant Du Siècle” was released on 29 March 2010 and showcases her new mature persona, while distancing herself from her earlier lolita figure.

The other singles from this album were "J’ai pas vingt ans” " and "À contre-courant", and "Amélie m’a dit" in French and English versions.

AMÉLIE is a 2001 romantic comedy film directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Its original French title is Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain meaning "The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain". Written by Jeunet with Guillaume Laurant, the film is a whimsical depiction of contemporary Parisian life, set in Montmartre. It tells the story of a shy waitress, played by Audrey Tautou, who decides to change the lives of those around her for the better, while struggling with her own isolation. Amélie is a waitress at The Two Windmills, a small café that is staffed and frequented by a collection of eccentrics. Having spurned romantic relationships following a few disappointing efforts, she finds contentment in simple pleasures and letting her imagination roam free.

Little lonely
Little cloud over the sea
Through the rainbow
Summer seems long ago
Light in your eyes
Softly when you speak to me
But if you hide…
won’t be up to me
I

I see your shadow
Coming, floating above my dreams
Wherever you go
I’ll be calling your name, I feel
Always on your side
If you tell me, that you love me
Hold on to your sky.
Oh, Amélie mine, help me to fly.

Amélie has gold for every soul.
Amélie was told to be my angel.
Amélie has melted every stone
Loving Amélie, coming from heaven
Amélie has gold for every soul.
Loving Amélie, love will be, will be
Words of Amélie, words I follow.
“Mélodie de vie” “mélo d’Amélie”.

A little lonely
Photographs over me
Sleeping Beauty
No, I’m not, I’m ugly
And wait
To see your sign, Oh, would I
Stay away
Until you are mine and
Dawn is coming down
Feeling empty, falling slowly
Never let me drown
Oh, Amélie mine, help me to fly.

Amélie has gold for every soul.
Amélie was told to be my angel.
Amélie has melted every stone
Loving Amélie, coming from heaven
Amélie has gold for every soul.
Loving Amélie, love will be, will be
Words of Amélie, words I follow.
