Description

The hidden texts of ancient Hermetica stated one principle: "As above, so below", which means that everything happening in heaven has an equivalent on earth and vice versa (the other way round too). If that is true, the birth of Jesus must have an equivalent in the sky. This documentary has found that equivalence, and we can see that on that day, Jesus was also born in the stars. Curious? Check this out.

Transcript

The star in the east is Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, which on December 24th aligns with the three brightest stars in Orion’s belt. These three bright stars in Orion’s belt are called today what they were called in ancient times "the three kings." And the three kings and the brightest star Sirius all point to the place of the sunrise on December 25th. This is why the 3 kings follow the star in the east in order to locate the sunrise: the birth of the sun.

The Virgin Mary is the constellation Virgo, also known as Virgo the Virgin. Virgo in Latin means virgin. Virgo was also referred to as the "House of Bread," and the representation of Virgo is a virgin holding a sheath of wheat. This house of bread and its symbol of wheat represents August and September, the time of harvest. In turn, Bethlehem, in fact, literally translates to "House of Bread." Bethlehem is thus a reference to the constellation Virgo, a place in the sky, not on Earth.

There is another very interesting phenomenon that occurs around December 25th or the winter solstice. From the summer solstice to the winter solstice the days become shorter and colder, and from the perspective of the northern hemisphere, the sun appears to move south and get smaller and more scarce. The shortening of the days and the expiration of the crops, when approaching the winter solstice, symbolize the process of death to the ancients. It was the death of the sun.

And by December 22nd, the sun’s demise was fully realized for the sun, having moved south continually for 6 months, makes it to its lowest point in the sky. Here, a curious thing occurs. The sun stops moving south at least perceivably for 3 days and during this 3-day pause, the sun resides in the vicinity of the Southern Cross, or Crux constellation. And after this time, on December 25th, the sun moves 1 degree this time north, foreshadowing longer days, warmth, and spring. And thus it was said: "The sun died on the cross, was dead for 3 days, only to be resurrected or born again."

Explanations

THE BRIGHTEST= The one shining the most.

DECEMBER 24TH= In BrE we can also write it like this, but we need the article THE when speaking ("December the 24th"), but in AmE they don’t usually use the article.

ORION’S BELT= The central part of the constellation of Orion. A CONSTELLATION is a group of stars which make up a design in the sky. The constellation of Orion is supposed to be the picture of the ancient Greek giant Orion, and there are three shiny stars in the place where his waste is supposed to be, so they are called "Orion’s belt" (a BELT is a strap you put around your waste to prevent your trousers from falling down or just for decoration. See picture here).

ANCIENT TIMES= About Two or more thousand years ago.

THE THREE KINGS= In English they are usually called "The Three Wise Men" (wise men are men who know abut many things). They were three astrologers that came from Persia when Jesus was born, because they saw a new star in the sky and the prophecy said that means a new king was born, so they followed the star to give presents to the new king, who was Jesus. Later, popular belief said that they were three kings from three different parts of the world (Europe, Africa and Asia), and they became a symbol of all the nations paying tribute to Jesus at his birth.

SUNRISE= The time when the sun goes up in the sky after night.

THE BIRTH OF THE SUN= Jesus was identified with the sun because he brought light to the darkness. We don’t know exactly the day Jesus was born, but in the year 325 the Roman Emperor Constantine decided to celebrate Jesus’ birth on December the 25th, because if Jesus is the new sun, the best day to celebrate his birthday was the day when the new sun of the year is born, when the night is shortest and days begin to grow longer (the victory of the sun over the night).

VIRGO= The name of a constellation. The word "virgo" is Latin for "virgin". That is why on this video they identify the constellation of Virgo with the Virgin Mary, mother of Jesus. (see picture here)

A SHEATH OF WHEAT= Here, SHEATH means "bunch" (like in "a bunch of flowers"), and WHEAT (/wi:t/) is a cereal used for making bread (see picture here).

HARVEST= If you grow plants, for instance cereals, in summer you can take it from the ground. The plants you take, or the action of removing them, is called "harvest".

IN TURN= On the other hand.

THUS= This way, in this manner, therefore.

PHENOMENON= An event (plural: phenomena).

SOLSTICE= Either of two times of the year when the sun is at its greatest distance from the celestial equator. The summer solstice in the Northern Hemisphere occurs about June 21, when the sun is in the zenith at the tropic of Cancer; the winter solstice occurs about December 21, when the sun is over the tropic of Capricorn. The summer solstice is the longest day of the year and the winter solstice is the shortest (after that, days begin to grow).

PERSPECTIVE= Point of view.

NORTHERN HEMISPHERE= The world is a sphere, if you cut it along the middle (the equator), the upper part is the northern hemisphere and the lower part is the southern hemisphere.

SCARCE= Insufficient to meet a demand or requirement. In winter, the sun is scarce because it doesn’t shine or heat enough.

EXPIRATION= Death, termination.

CROPS= Cultivated plants.

THE ANCIENTS= People living in ancient times (some thousand years ago).

DEMISE= Death, termination. Here they say "the sun’s demise", using the construction called "Saxon genitive" for a thing. Saxon genitive is only used for people (or times), but here we’re talking about the sun’s birth and death, comparing it to Jesus, so in a way, we are considering the sun a bit like a human.

OCCURS= Happens.

PERCEIVABLY= In a way that can be perceived. Perceived = noticed, seen.

DURING= At some time in...
- It rained for two weeks (FOR expresses duration)
- It rained three times during the weekend (the rained happened in the weekend)

RESIDES= Is.

IN THE VICINITY OF= Near.

CRUX= The name of a constellation. Latin for "cross" (see picture here).

FORESHADOWING= Presenting an indication or a suggestion of beforehand; presaging, announcing.
