Fill in the gaps

In this activity you will have a sentence or text with some gaps (empty spaces), and then you must guess what are the words that should go into those gaps. In some activities they may already give you the words you have to use (even some words you don't need to use), so all you need is to think which word goes where. If they give you a list of words to use, they may also give you some additional distractors (words that don't fit any gaps) to make it a little more confusing and difficult. When you finish completing the text you can click on the -Check- button to see if you made the exercise correctly. If you did, you get one positive point, if you didn't you will see which words are wrongly placed and you can try to move them around until you get it all right, but you'll get one negative point anyway.

When you finish all the items you can see your results, the percentage of right and wrong answers. Then you can exit the activity or start again.

LISTENINGS- When you open the activity you will find an icon to preview print or download all the questions and options. If the exercise is a listening test on the video, before starting the activity you should preview (or even print) the exercises and read them carefully for one or two minutes. Then play the video and start the activity. You must advance through the items along with the video, so if you have read the questions beforehand, you will know if you are moving along with the video alright or you have been left behind.

LEARN FROM YOUR MISTAKES (only for activities where this feature makes sense):

When you finish the activity you'll see the number of hits you got right and wrong. If you made mistakes, good, now you can learn from your mistakes. The next time you do this activity you will see a red button to play only mistakes . If you click on that button you will repeat the activity but this time only with the items you failed before, so you can concentrate on those difficult bits you need to master. Your mistake revision will be available to you for one year since the last time you played that activity, so you have plenty of time for revision. If you are not a registered user your mistakes will only be remembered for one day and then they'll be forgotten, so still one more reason to register.
