info: Create a video page 3/3

LEVEL --> Choose the difficulty level for this video. The options are:
Basic = beginners or elementary level (very simple and easy to understand) (A1)
Easy = upper-elementary to preintermediate level (A2)
Medium = intermediate and postintermediate level (B1)
Hard = Advanced level (B2-C1-C2)

TIME --> Write the minutes and seconds that the video lasts. There are 3 boxes, one for the hours, one for the minutes and one for the seconds. If the video lasts less than 61 minutes just leave the hour box empty. Make sure the time is correct because the speed of the text scroll will be automatically adjusted to the time you insert here.

ACCENT --> Choose the variety of English they use on the video (if you know):
AmE = The kind of English spoken in the USA, Canada and the Philippines.
BrE = The kind of English spoken in the rest of the English speaking countries.
AmBr = Choose this option if you don’t know if they speak AmE or BrE, or if they use both accents on the video.
Foreign = Choose this if the person has an obvious foreign accent. Many people who are not native speakers have a good British or an American accent, so don’t choose “Foreign” unless their accent is strong.
No Voice = For videos with subtitles but no sound. If there is no sound and no subtitles don’t use the video.

COUNTRY/accent --> Here, if you wish, you can specify what country the speaker/s come from (if you know). If you chose BrE in “Accent” and they are from England you don’t need to specify the country here, and if you chose AmE and they are from the USA you don’t need to specify the country either because those are the default options. But for example, for an Australian speaker you should mark the accent as BrE and in the country specify “Australia”. If the speaker is not a native but their accent is good, you can specify their country here (for a Mexican speaker with a good accent simply write "Mexico" here); if the speaker is not a native and their accent is strong, write the accent here (for a Mexican speaker with a strong Spanish accent write "Spanish", not "Mexican").

EXPLANATIONS --> If your level of English is good enough, you can write linguistic explanations here. You can explain difficult vocabulary, grammatical constructions, colloquialisms, cultural references, etc. An easy way to do this is by looking the difficult words up in the dictionary and writing the words with their deffinition here. If you please, use the same format found in the Official Section, for example:

WORD TO EXPLAIN= The definition comes in small letters but the word or expression to define come in capital letters follow by the character "="

--> To the left of the Explanations box there is a transcription button. If you want to insert a phonetic transcription in this box just click the button and a window will pop up. There you can write the phonetic transcription using a convenient keyboard with phonetic symbols. The symbols used are the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), the most widely used international standard for phonetic transcription. In the phonetics window you will find the instructions to use it. When you have your transcription ready, just close the window and it will be automatically copied to your clipboard. Click inside the Explanation box and paste it (right-click and choose "paste".or press the keys /control/ + /V/ in your computer keyboard to copy it).

Note: when you paste transcriptions, your text will be in red, so if you want to write more maybe you will have to change the colour to black by clicking on the corresponding icon of the text box (a big A with a colour dash under it).

After you finish completing this form, click on the arrow button to submit us your video page for approval. Your page will be labelled as PENDING in your user account until we revise it and accept it. Once accepted it will be marked as ACTIVE on your user’s video list and it will be visible to all users in the public OPEN SECTION of this site and on your personal video list. If it is very good stuff, it may be promoted to the Official Section so that it can have more visits.

You can edit your video pages any time by entering your user's menu, going to your video list and clicking on the Edit icon of the video you want to edit.    -edit-
