A funny video to learn how to book a room in a hotel. It can be quite confusing when booking a hotel when using expressions like King, Queen, double, single.

The Russian guy has a foreign accent and his sentences are not very correct, he makes a few mistakes (that's intentional, he is playing the role of a foreigner).

There's still another kind of room they don't mention here: a twin room. That is a room with two single beds (= twin beds).

- Do you have a reservation for Boris Miloskevich?
- Good afternoon. How are you?
- Boris Miloskevich.
- No, not who are you. How are you?
- I am fine, thank you. How are you?
- I'm fine, thank you.
- Do you have a reservation for Boris Miloskevich?
- Miloskevich? Ah, yes. Miloskevich. September the second. Two nights. Will you be wanting a single or a double room?
- Just... just one room for sleeping.
- I beg your pardon. Will that be a single or a double room?
- I'm only one person, I need only one room.
- Right. Only one room. Will that be a double or a queen?
- A queen?
- A queen. Would you like a queen? Or perhaps you’d like a king?
- I... I need not the “a king” or queen, I... I would like room please.
- Would you like a double-size bed, a queen-size bed or a king-size bed?
- I... I will have a double bed, please.
- Double bed. Now, would that be smoking or non-smoking?
- Sorry?
- Do you smoke?
- No, thank you. It... it is bad habit.
- No. Do you want a room for people who don’t smoke?
- Which...which people? Who are these people?
- There are no people. Alright, forget it. Non-smoking. How will you be paying for this?
- Who are these people?
- There are no people!
- But you said people who...
- Never mind! There are no people. Do you need parking?
- Pardon me?
- Parking. Are you driving a car?
- No, I’m... I’m standing.
- Alright. No parking. And how will you be paying for this?
- I have visa.
- Visa? Can I have your card for an imprint, please? Thank you. There you are, sir. Have a nice stay. And your room key, sir.
- Thank you. Can you recommend a good restaurant?
- Yes. If you walk out that door and turn to your right, the Dog’s Ear restaurant is right next door.
- Thank you.
- Good bye.
