Grammar in songs: Infinitive, gerund and bare infinitive (Grammar in songs) | UNIT 7 - part of lesson M |
Here you will practise listening for three verb forms:
INFINITIVE: To love, to sing, to drink
GERUND: Loving, singing, drinking
BARE INFINITIVE: love, sing, drink
Some verbs are followed by infinitive, some by gerund and some by bare infinitive:
- I want to dance
- I love dancing
- Let me dance
But you will learn all that in Unit 10 (verb patters). Now you just must know that those different forms exist.
Listen to the video (reading the subtitles) and make a list of the infinitives, gerunds and bare infinitives you find. You don't need to do the last section (the one titled: infinitive or gerund).
Then check under the KEY tab to see if you were right.
