Americans take spelling contests very seriously, and they use very strange words, many of them hardly ever used. This kid is asked to spell the word "Negus", the name of an ancient dynasty of Ethiopian kings. The problem is that the word is pronounced exactly the same as a racist term referring to black people, so the kid feels quite embarrassed about it. Let's see what happens.

And remember: when in doubt, sound it out!
