Featuring Taio Cruz. A song about a broken heart by English pop rock band McFly composed together with Taio Cruz.

In the 60's, The Beatles managed to make "yeah, yeah" a must in modern songs. Now this song confirms that, under the influence of Timbaland, "eh, eh" is definitely getting fashionable and cool in modern music.

Tell me, are you feeling strong
strong enough to love someone
and make it through the hardest storm
and bad weather

Will you pull me from the flames
Hold me till I feel no pain
and give me shelter from the rain
for ever

Where can I find her
She took the light and left me in the dark, eh
She left me with a broken heart, eh
Now I’m on my own
If anybody sees her

(eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh)
If anybody sees her

Tell me can you hear my voice
loud and clear above the noise
And even if I had the choice
I would not give up

Where can I find her
She took the light and left me in the dark, eh
She left me with a broken heart, eh
Now I’m on my own
If anybody sees her

(eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh)
If anybody sees her

(eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh)
If anybody sees her

She took the light and left me in the dark, eh
She left me with a broken heart, eh
Now I’m on my own
If anybody sees her

(eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh)
If anybody sees her

(eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh, eh)
Shine a light on her (eh, eh)
If anybody sees her

STRONG ENOUGH TO...= /ɪnʌf/  With all the necessary strength to...
We use "enough" before the noun and after the adjective:
- You are not old enough to drink alcohol.  (adj + enough)
- Have you got enough money to buy that house?  (enough + noun)

MAKE IT THROUGH= If you make it through a situation, you experience a difficult situation but you survive and continue with your normal life.

PULL ME FROM= Take me out of.

FLAMES= Burning gushes of fire (see picture)

HOLD ME= Hug me, embrace me, put your arms around me.

SHELTER= Protection; a place to be safe from bad weather.

SHE TOOK THE LIGHT AND LEFT ME IN THE DARK= She left me and now my life is horrible because everything that made me happy went away with her (she was the light in my life).

WITH A BROKEN HEART= In pain, suffering (for emotional reasons, usually from unrequited love).

I'M ON MY OWN= I'm alone.

ANYBODY= Somebody.
In sentences with IF we use ANY instead of SOME even in affirmative sentences:
- I need some money
- If you need any money just tell me
- He found something in that bag
- If you find anything in that bag, take it to the police

SHINE A LIGHT ON HER= Tell me where she is.
If people are looking for a person or something in the dark and you find it/them, you will shine a light on them with your torch (AmE "flash-light") so everybody can see them. The singer says that she left him in the dark, so if you find her and shine a light on her, he will be able to see her and so know where she is now.

LOUD AND CLEAR= (of a voice or sound) powerful, strong, easy to hear.

ABOVE THE NOISE= Above /əbʌv/ means "higher than". If you hear something "above the noise", there is a lot of noise, but you can hear that because it's louder than the noise around it.

IF I HAD THE CHOICE= If I could choose

GIVE UP= Stop trying (stop looking for her)

EVEN IF I HAD THE CHOICE I WOULDN'T GIVE UP= I have no choice (I can't stop looking for her), but even in the imaginary situation that I could choose and decide if I want to give up or not, I would choose to never give up and keep looking for her

This is the story of a man who is looking for true love, someone who can "give me shelter from the rain forever". A love like that is not easy to find ("where can I find her?"), and he knows, because he is suffering from a broken heart. She broke up and left him: "she took the light and left me in the dark, she left me with a broken heart".

It is quite obvious that the girl who took the light and left him in the dark can't be the same woman that will pull him from the flames of hell and hold him till he feels no pain, but he's still in love with her and he wants her to be that woman, he wants her back again so... "if anybody sees her, shine a light on her".
