Featuring Sia. People, even the ones you love can be unpredictable. Even though you may want to change them for the better, it's all up to them. You can't control what other people do, but you can control yourself. You can decide to stick something out to get threw hard times and hope for the better in the future, or you can move on, and start over for a new future.

The video looks like the song is part of the soundtrack of some film, but it's not. This video was shot specifically for this song, and not the other way round.

You shouted hello,
But I can't hear a word you say
I'm talking loud not saying much
I'm criticized but all your bullets ricochet
You shoot me down, but I get up

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium

Cut me down
But it's you who'll have further to fall
Ghost town and haunted love
Raise your voice, sticks and stones may break my bones
Talking loud not saying much

I'm bulletproof, nothing to lose
Fire away, fire away
Ricochet, you take your aim
Fire away, fire away
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
I am titanium
I am titanium

Stone-hard, machine gun
Firing at the ones who run
Stone-hard, there was bulletproof glass

You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
You shoot me down but I won't fall
I am titanium
I am titanium

BULLETS= /bʊlɪts/ (also /bʊləts/, as used here) (see picture)

RICOCHET= /rɪkəʃz/ or /rɪkəʃe/ If a projectile ricochets, it rebounds without drilling into the target, so it causes no important harm. So as far as pronunciation goes, forget about the final T and you have the pronunciations: (past) ricocheted /rɪkəʃed/, (3rd person) ricochets /rɪkəʃez/, ricocheting /rɪkəʃeɪŋ/.

YOU SHOOT ME DOWN= You shoot me and I fall down (this usually implies that they kill you or hurt you badly).

BULLETPROOF= If something is bulletproof, bullets can’t penetrate it.

NOTHING TO LOSE= If you have nothing to lose, you don’t mind risking or doing dangerous things, because you can only win or remain the same… but you have nothing to lose.

FIRE AWAY= literal sense: shoot. Figurative sense: start talking or asking questions.

YOU TAKE YOUR AIM= To take your aim is to point towards the target. If you want to shoot a thing, first you take your aim and then you shoot.
This sentence is not a present tense, it is an imperative. In informal English we often use the pronoun YOU with imperatives for emphasis.

TITANIUM= /taɪtnɪəm/ The most valuable among precious metals and also one of the hardest and most resistant.

CUT ME DOWN= If you cut a tree down, you fell it, you cut it and make it fall down.

FURTHER= irregular comparative of FAR (also: farther).

GHOST TOWN= A ghost town is an empty town, one which has been abandoned, so nobody lives there anymore. You can find some ghost towns in the American West.

HAUNTED= /hɔ:ntɪd/ A haunted place is a place where you can find ghosts (the same ghost or ghosts appearing frequently). If you are haunted by an idea or a feeling, that idea or feeling comes to you repeatedly for a long time.

RAISE YOUR VOICE= Speak up, loud. Figuratively: If you raise your voice, you defend your rights, you stop people from attacking you.

STICKS AND STONES…= This is something that children sometimes say when they are insulted. The complete thing is:
- Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me. When I am dead, you’ll be sorry for what you said.
The meaning of this is that if you attack me physically, you can hurt me, but your words have no power over me, I choose not to give you power over me, so nothing you say can hurt me… because I am bulletproof, I am titanium.

STONE-HARD= Hard as a stone.

MACHINE GUN= /məʃi:n gʌn/ (see picture)

FIRING= Shooting.

Titanium is a strong, light and corrosion-resistant metallic element. Titanium alloys are used in aircraft, armor plating, missiles, naval ships and spacecraft. But titanium is not only one of the strongest metals, it is also the most valuable. So this song combines both ideas:

You want to destroy me, but you can't, because I am so strong and I am so valuable.
