Warning: don't watch if you are afraid of shedding a tear or two.

A cute moving video to promote reading and show how it can help you express what is inside you in a strong and clear way.

The best way to improve your writing is not simply writing, but reading a lot. The more you read, the easier will be for you to express yourself according to the assimilated models read.

So, a noun is a person, place or thing. A verb is an action word.
Max? Something to share with the class?
Come on!
Thank you.

How tired I am
Of this unbearable distance between us
How I long for the toll of the recess bell
Have you forgotten me?
Grown mindless of me?
Tell me I am not writing into an abyss
Or that is what will become of my heart.

Reading inspires kids.

UNBEARABLE= If something is unbearable, it feels impossible to continue with it. It's simply too much for your emotions or resistance.

LONG= To long is to wish for something really strongly, even desperately. The noun is "longing". A longing is a very strong desire. The adjective "long" is a completely different word.

THE TOLL= The sound of a bell. We can also say that the bell rings, but "toll" is a word much more beautiful and poetical than "ring".

RECESS= A recess is a break, some time off to rest or relax. School has one or several recesses where children can get out of class and play or whatever. A more usual word for this is PLAYTIME. The beginning and end of a recess is usually signalled by the ring of a bell.

GROWN MINDLESS OF ME?= (Have you) stopped thinking about me?
This sentence means the same as the previous one ("have you forgotten me?"), but it sounds much more beautiful and sophisticated.

ABYSS= /əbɪs/ A crack in the ground or at the edge of land that looks so deep that you can't see the bottom of it. (see picture)

INSPIRES= Gives inspiration, stimulates, provides with ideas and new things.

What the poem says, in plain English, is this:

I am very tired of being so far away from you.
I really really want the bell to ring for playtime.
Have you forgotten me?
You don't care about me anymore?
Tell me you won't throw my words away into the trash
because if you do, I will feel like trash too.

(trash= rubbish, litter, litter bin, trash can: see picture)

Different words, same meaning, and a huge different reaction to them.
