This is a song very superficial and wild and I can't stand this lady but, oh well, we all like a bit of that too, and it's really cool for dancing, love it.

I couldn't find the official video (well, I found it but it was not embeddable) but I found this one instead. I think it's funny.

Hope you enjoy it  ;-)

Mike

What's going on on the floor?
I love this record baby, but I can't see straight anymore (woo!)
Keep it cool, what's the name of this club?
I can't remember, but it's alright, a-alright

Just dance, gonna be okay
Da da doo doom
Just dance, spin that record babe
Da da doo doom
Just dance, gonna be okay
Da-da-da-dance
Dance, dance
Just just ju-just dance

Wish I could shut my playboy mouth (oh, oh, oh-oh)
How'd I turn my shirt inside out? (inside out right)
Control your poison babe
Roses with thorns they say
And we're all gettin' hosed tonight (oh, oh, oh-oh)

What's go-ing on on the floor?
I love this record baby, but I can't see straight anymore

ON RED-ONE= I always thought she said “on red wine”, but I heard somewhere that the producer of this song is called “RedOne”, so I suppose the other man singing is Konvict and then we have Lady Gaga, of course.

I’VE HAD A LITTLE BIT TOO MUCH= Well, I think she didn’t have a little bit too much, but a real big too too much of alcohol. Red wine or gin-and-tonic?

ALL OF THE PEOPLE START TO RUSH BY= She got drunk and suddenly people seemed to moved faster all around her.

DIZZY= When you feel dizzy you want to vomit. A TWISTER DANCE is an energic dance where you twist and shake your body to the beat, whooo! But she thinks that dance made her dizzy. Yeah, right, I don’t think it was the dance that made her drunk... Anoda gin 'n' tonic, pleez  :-P

CAN’T FIND MY DRINK OR MAN= OMG, she really got drunk this lady. I can understand that she can’t find her man, maybe he’s drunk too and is dancing with the wrong girl (he he), but she can’t find her drink either! Was the gin and tonic seducing the wrong drinker too? As I said, legless.

WHERE ARE MY KEYS? I LOST MY PHONE= Ok, now we know it’s completely the alcohol to blame. She doesn’t know where anything is! ...legless.

WHAT’S GOING ON= What’s happening?

ON THE FLOOR= The dance floor is the place in a disco where people dance.

RECORD= A music CD or those big black vinyl discs they still use sometimes to play music.

I CAN’T SEE STRAIGHT= I can’t see properly (yeah, she sees all blurred and doubled and all that).

KEEP IT COOL= You're doing great and I want you to continue (probably talking about the DJ).

THIS CLUB= A club is a disco or a disco-bar. And she can’t remember the name of that pub. Just imagine how much she has drunk. I don't think she's fit for dancing anymore. Well, maybe fit enough to make a fool of herself moving pathetically on the dance floor.

I CAN'T REMEMBER BUT IT'S ALRIGHT= I can’t remember where I am but I don't care, it's all right.

GONNA BE OKAY= Everything’s going to be OK. Yeah, if you drink too much it’s much better if you dance nonstop, because if you sit down you’re going to feel really bad.

SPIN THAT RECORD BABE= Play that music. To spin is to turn around, and when a record is playing it’s spinning.

WISH I COULD SHUT MY PLAYBOY MOUTH= I still remember my teachers repeating "after the verb wish we use the past tense", so there, I told you. I’ve heard "shut your big mouth up" (= stop talking), but I don’t know what MY PLAYBOY MOUTH is. Do you? (please, leave a comment if you know, I’m curious).

HOW’D I TURN MY SHIRT INSIDE OUT= How did I turn... Well, she took her shirt off, and then put it back on but the wrong way (the inside part is now outside), and she is so drunk she can’t remember doing that. Maybe she did a strip-tease or something and now she can’t remember. OMG.

CONTROL YOUR POISON, BABE. ROSES WITH THORNS THEY SAY= Roses are beautiful but they have thorns, so some things in life look nice but they are bad. Maybe she’s talking to the barman (she doesn’t want to drink more alcohol) or maybe she’s talking to a guy who is trying to seduce her.

WE’RE ALL GETTING HOSED TONIGHT= Everybody’s getting really drunk.

CHECKING OUT THAT CATALOGUE= He’s looking at all the girls on the dance floor trying to choose one, just like when you want to buy something and you’re looking up in a catalogue.

SO MANY WOMEN WITHOUT A FLAW!= A flaw is a defect, so he sees the dance floor full with women who are perfect. Obviously he’s drunk too, I’ve been to many discos and never found that. (sorry girls, no offence meant, I’m sure you’re one of the cute ones).

I AIN’T GON GIVE IT UP= I'm not going to give it up = I’m not going to stop trying (to pick one girl up). To pick up a girl is to seduce her.

TRYNA= I suppose he means “trying to”.

SHORTY= A colloquial word to refer to a cute girl. I learnt this word here, at this site, at the song LEAVING. There it is spelt “shawty”, but I’m sure it’s the same word because the pronunciation is the same if we pronounce it in British English (and this Lady Gaga is British).

TWIRLING UP= Moving like a tornado, twisting and turning. (I think)

THEM HIPS= Those hips (colloquial English again).

IN THE MEANTIME= Meanwhile.

CARVE IT OUT= She’s talking about muscles so this means: shape your muscles, build them up so they look big and nice.

HUSTLE= To move quickly.

LYSOL= ? No idea

SPEND THE LAST DOUGH IN YOUR POCKO= Sped all the money in your pocket.

This is a song about a woman who went to the disco and got really drunk, and then she couldn’t remember anything so she decided to dance the night away and have fun. Ha, ha. Legless she got by the sound of it (suits her).
