Christian hip-hop band released this single in 2008 from their album Ordinary Dreamers. Reviewer Andree Farias was positive about the album, claiming that it "establishes them as power players in Christian urban pop".

The members of this band are all Latino: Manwell Reyes, Blanca Reyes (no relation to Manwell) and Pablo. Manwell explained, "Group 1 Crew is founded on the principle of individuality and a universal calling. We are a group of individuals (or 1′s) who maintain unity cause of our vision of 1 dream in 1 God with 1 purpose".

C'mon

Hey, if you really wanna move
Hey, hey, you got to get movin'
Hey, if you really wanna move
Hey, hey, you got to get movin'

Yeah, on your mark, get set, here we go
Time to make your future unfold
And put aside what's killing your growth
You know what's best for ya so let's go

Holla back if you really feel me
Holla back now if you are with me
No time to waste the clock is tickin'
Enough wishin' the well's out of commission

Ain't no superstition
No need to make your own prediction
Your destiny is in your possession
How bad you want it is the question

If you really wanna move you got to get movin' (movin' movin')
Got to get movin'
Nothin' left to do except to just do it (do it, do it)
Got to just do it

If you want it want it go and go and get it, get it
You don't have to wait anymore
I can hear Him calling, step through the door
Where anything is possible, oh, oh

We're on a mission
A mission to bring you what you're missing
No superstition, this vision has intuition

I get irate, then take the whole cake
When you hate me, I levitate then
Migrate to a mind state
When He appropriates a new faith

Hey, we came just to change the whole game
And we aim to maintain that One Name that
You've heard whispered among listeners, hit nerves
B-b-burn like perm fixtures
Sisters and gentlemen alike, there's a brand new dance tonight
Now get it hype

If you really wanna move you got to get movin' (movin' movin')
Got to get movin'
Nothin' left to do except to just do it (do it, do it)
Got to just do it

If you want it, want it go and go and get it, get it
You don't have to wait anymore
I can hear Him calling, step through the door
through the door, through the door, door

We're going live on the mic tonight in the studio
Speaking truth and life into your stereo

We're going live on the mic tonight in the studio
Speaking truth, speaking truth and life into your stereo

Hey, if you really wanna move
Hey, hey, you got to get movin'
Hey, if you really wanna move
Hey, hey, you got to get movin'

If you want it, want it go and go and get it, get it
You don't have to wait anymore
(You don't have to wait anymore, it's all yours for sure)
Take a step through the door
(Let your faith walk it out now, walk it out now)

You don't have to wait anymore
(You don't have to wait anymore, it's all yours for sure)
It's time to take a step through the door
(Let your faith walk it out now, walk it out now)

Holla back if you really feel me

C'MON= (coll.) Come on.

WANNA= (coll.) Want to.

YOU GOT TO GET MOVIN'= (coll.) You've got to start to move, you must begin to do something about it.

ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, HERE WE GO= A version of the three commands that runners receive to start a race: "on your mark, get set, go!". There is another simplified version, which is more used outside official competitions, that says, "ready, steady, go!"

UNFOLD= Open and spread out. If your future unfolds, it starts to happen, it begins. The sentence "time to make your future unfold" means "it's the moment to start making all your dreams come true". They don't say "the future" but "your future": the phrase "your future" here means "your future plans/wishes/dreams".

PUT ASIDE= Reject, throw away.

YA= (coll.) /jə/ /jʌ/ You.

HOLLA= An exclamation used to show excitement or enthusiasm, like when people start screaming in a concert. "Holla back" means: we're greeting/shouting at you, so yell back at us.

IF YOU ARE WITH ME= If you agree, if you think/feel the same.

THE CLOCK IS TICKING= The tick of a clock is the tick-tock sound it makes, so if the clock is ticking, time is passing.

ENOUGH WISHING= You must stop wishing (and do something).

THE WELL'S OUT OF COMISSION= A well is a deep hole in the ground to get water. Here they refer to a WISHING WELL, which is a well where you can throw a coin and have a wish (for superstition or simply for fun or tradition). OUT OF COMMISSION is used in some parts of the USA to mean "out of service" (not working). So if the wishing well is out of service it means that you can't make more wishes, you have to stop wishing for better things and start working to make them true yourself.

AIN'T= (coll) It isn't. In colloquial English "ain't" can be the negative forms of the verb to be or to have, so in this case it means "isn't", which creates a double negative (there isn't / (this) isn't no superstition). Double negatives are wrong in standard English but common in some varieties of colloquial English.

HOW BAD YOU WANT IS THE QUESTION= The question is how much you want it. (if you want it BAD, you want it very much).

I CAN HEAR HIM CALLING= They refer to Jesus (or God) calling you. When we refer to God it is common to capitalize all the parts of the speech referring to Him (especially possessives and pronouns).

STEP THROUGH THE DOOR= (literal: walk through the door, cross the door) Change your life, start a new journey.

MISSION= /mɪʃən/ A special assignment given to a person or group.

WHAT YOU'RE MISSING= The things that you don't have but you need or wish for.

IRATE= /aɪrt/ Extremely angry.

THE WHOLE CAKE= All of the cake. The expression "to take the cake" means to surpass all others, especially in stupidity, so "(I) take the whole cake" is even more emphatic (= I'm soooo stupid).

LEVITATE= To float in the air (in this case he refers to an extreme feeling of peace that makes you feel like floating).

MIGRATE= Be transported, change.

APPROPRIATES= To appropriate is to set apart for a specific use; to take possession.

TO CHANGE THE  WHOLE GAME= To change all the rules, to show you how to do things differently. (whole = all)

AIM= Intend, try.

THAT ONE NAME= The one name that you've heard whispered among listeners... is here a reference to Jesus.

WHISPERED= If you whisper something you say it softly, in a low voice.

LISTENERS= Here they refer to the people who listen to God's call.

HIT NERVES= Makes people passionate about it.

PERM FIXTURES= A perm is a hairstyle produced by treatment with heat, chemicals, etc. which gives long-lasting waves, curls, or other styles (the original name was "permanent waves"). A FIXTURE is a mix of products that can temporarily fix a problem. A "perm fixture" are the chemicals used to make a perm, which are very aggressive and (especially in the past) chemically "burn" your hair to fix a particular shape.

SISTERS= (coll. esp. black language) Ladies.

ALIKE= If you say A and B alike, you mean A and also B.

BRAND NEW= Totally new.

GET IT HYPE= (coll. AmE) Have a lot of fun. Be very happy.

WE'RE GOING LIVE /laɪv/= We are performing in real time for you, not recording it for later viewing.

MIC=/maɪk/ Microphone.

STUDIO= (BrE /stju:dɪəʊ/ AmE /stu:dɪəʊ/) A room where singers record their voice or transmit it live on the radio. Also a TV studio (to be shown on television).

STEREO= An apparatus used to listen to the radio or music CDs.

LET YOUR FAITH WALK IT OUT= Let your faith guide your steps.

This song sounds like many of the songs around there today: Life’s short so don’t waste your time and go for your dreams.

C’mon
Hey, if you really wanna move
Hey, hey, you got to get movin'
Yeah, on your mark, get set, here we go
Time to make your future unfold

But being this a Christian band, it comes to no surprise that what they mean by “carpe diem” (seize the day, live the present) is not the same as most singers mean today. It’s not “have fun and go crazy”, but “make your life worthy and be happy, feel at peace”. To help you with that, they bring a “new” message that’s been around for 2000 years.

We're on a mission
A mission to bring you what you're missing
No superstition, this vision has intuition

They know this message is very different from what young people hear today, but they are here to challenge you:

Hey, we came just to change the whole game
And we aim to maintain that One Name that
You've heard whispered among listeners

That one name, of course, is “Jesus”.

So, to sum it up, this song is a call for action, for conversion: don't hesitate, if you want to change your life, just do it right now. God is calling, the door is open, there's no better moment than this one, so stand up and cross the door to a new life.

Don't leave for tomorrow what you can do today, and nobody is going to do it for you: if you really wanna move, you got to get movin'.
