I'm walking away from the troubles in my life
I'm walking away oh to find a better day
I'm walking away from the troubles in my life
I'm walking away oh to find a better day
I'm walking away

sometimes some people get me wrong
when it's something I've said or done
sometimes you feel there is no fun
that's why you turn and run

but now I truly realise
some people don't wanna compromise
well, I saw them with my own eyes
spreading those lies and
well, I don't wanna live a lie
too many sleepless nights
not mentioning the fights
I'm sorry to say lady

I'm walking away from the troubles in my life
I'm walking away oh to find a better day
I'm walking away from the troubles in my life
I'm walking away oh to find a better day
I'm walking away

Well I'm so tired baby
things you say, you're driving me away
whispers in the powder room, baby
don't listen to the games they play

girl, I thought you'd realise
I'm not like them other guys
coz I saw them with my own eyes
you should've been more wise and
well, I don't wanna live a lie
too many sleepless nights
not mentioning the fights, I'm sorry to say lady

I'm walking away from the troubles in my life
I'm walking away oh to find a better day
I'm walking away from the troubles in my life
I'm walking away oh to find a better day

I'm walking away from the troubles in my life
I'm walking away oh to find a better day
I'm walking away from the troubles in my life
I'm walking away baby oh...

GET ME WRONG= If you get me wrong, you don’t understand me.

TRULY= In truth, really. “I truly realise” = I completely realise.

REALISE= (AmE: realize) To become aware of something through reason.

WANNA= (coll.) Want to.

COMPROMISE= Negotiate a problem so both sides make concessions and both sides win.

MY OWN EYES= (emphatic) My eyes.
If you see something with your own eyes, you see it yourself. It is not something they tell you, it is something you see, so you really believe it 100%.

SPREADING THOSE LIES= If you spread a lie, you tell that lie to other people so more and more people hear it and maybe believe it.

LIVE A LIE= To live a lie is to experience a situation which is not true. For example, you have a girlfriend and you think she loves you but she doesn’t love you, so through that relationship you are living a lie.

SLEEPLESS NIGHTS= Nights without sleep.

NOT MENTIONING THE FIGHTS= And also the fights.
- My parents give me all their love and care, not mentioning all the money I need. (= and also, they give me all the money I need)
In fact, this usage is not too common, the normal expression for this is “not to mention”.
- She is a very good person, nice and intelligent, not to mention beautiful (= and also beautiful)

I’M SORRY TO SAY= If you are sorry to say something, you wish you didn’t have to say it, but you say it anyway because it is true.
- I loved you a lot, but I’m sorry to say I hate you now for what you did to me.

THINGS YOU SAY, YOU’RE DRIVING ME AWAY= I feel more and more away from you because of some things you say (those things are not true, they are hurting me, so they are cooling my love down)

WHISPERS= To whisper is to speak in a very soft voice, so only someone very near you can hear it. “Whispers” are things you say in secret (or because you don’t want to make noise).
POWDER ROOM= A women’s toilet.
WHISPERS IN THE POWDER ROOM= This means that other girls are telling his girlfriend secrets, bad things about him, rumours. That is why he tells her “don’t listen to the games they play”, don’t pay attention to what they say because they only want to hurt me and it’s all a lie.

GUYS= (coll. esp. AmE) Men, boys.

COZ= (coll. also: cause, cuz, cos) Because.

MORE WISE= Wiser.
Wise = intelligent, showing a big knowledge about how life works.
Note: the comparative with MORE is slowly replacing the forms with –ER, so in the future it will be normal to say “more big” instead of “bigger”, etc.

Craig is sick of all his problems, like his disagreements with his girlfriends and the misinterpretations that their relationship possessed. This is basically a break-up song.
